The National Board for Credit Education & Consulting™ (NBCEC) is the leading authority responsible for setting the national standard for credit education, business funding consulting, and ethical financial coaching.

We exist for one purpose:

To elevate the integrity, competency, and professionalism of the credit consulting industry.

In a marketplace where anyone can call themselves a “credit expert,” we created the nation’s first governing body that:

Our Selective Certification Process

Unlike traditional certification programs, NBCEC does not accept every applicant. 

Every candidate must:

  • complete a formal application
  • pass a pre-qualification interview
  • demonstrate professional integrity
  • meet education or experience prerequisites
  • pass a psychometrically developed Board Exam
  • complete annual continuing education aligned with NBCEC standards to maintain certification

Our selective process ensures that the title Board-Certified Credit Consultant™ or Board-Certified Senior Credit Consultant (BCSCC)™ is meaningful, trusted, and respected.

Certification cannot be purchased. NBCEC credentials must be earned through demonstrated competence and ethical conduct.
